Invalid layers in a document can result in crash of 3D toolbar dialogs

The Create TIN, Add to TIN, or Convert to 3D dialogs will crash if an invalid layer; for example, one with a broken link to the data is present in the document.

Cause

This is a known issue.

Solution or Workaround

Make sure no broken layers are present in the document before opening one of these dialogs.
