Insert a carriage return (blank line) from an AML

Procedure

Question:

A carriage return is required in an AML to serve as the equivalent of a return in an interactive ARC/INFO session. How can a carriage return be given from an AML?

Cause:

Not applicable

Answer:

There are two ways to accomplish this:

1) Use the AML [UNQUOTE] function. For example:

RESELECT LANDUSE LANDOUT
RESELECT LU-CODE = 300
[UNQUOTE ' ']
N
N

2) Use a tilde (~). For example:

RESELECT LANDUSE LANDOUT
RESELECT LU-CODE = 300
~
N
N
