HOW TO
Special characters. such as ®, ©, and others. are not accessible through standard keyboard strokes. You can get these characters into ArcView from the Windows Character Map utility. The script window cannot display these characters.
Note:
The keystroke sequence equivalent for the character will appear on the bottom right of the utility. You can use this sequence in ArcView to type that character directly. For example, hold the Alt key down and using the numeric pad type 0169 to enter the © character.
Note:
In ArcView, some fonts such as Wingdings, will display as the keystroke equivalent in the Text Properties box, but will appear as the symbol in the view or layout. For example, with the Wingdings font, type Alt+Q. A letter Q will appear in the Text Properties box, but an airplane character will show in the view.
