Use HTTPS for ArcWeb requests

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Summary

Instructions provided describe how to use HTTPS for ArcWeb requests. When connecting to the toolbar, it is possible to select whether ArcWeb requests use HTTP or HTTPS.By default, the toolbar uses HTTP. With HTTP, all toolbar requests use HTTP except the ArcWeb Services connection requests, which contain the user name and password, so the toolbar uses HTTPS to protect this information. With the HTTPS option, the toolbar uses HTTPS for all requests except map requests.

Procedure

Follow these steps to use HTTPS for ArcWeb requests:

  1. From the ArcWeb Services menu, click Connect to ArcWeb Services.

The Connect to ArcWeb Services dialog box apppears.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Select the 'Use HTTPS for all ArcWeb requests' check box.
