HOW TO

Upload images faster from ArcGIS Flight

Last Published: December 10, 2024

Summary

ArcGIS Flight includes a Quick Upload Copy of Mission feature that enables users to expedite the upload of imagery to Site Scan. It is recommended when internet bandwidth is limited. After images are imported into ArcGIS Flight, this feature creates a copy of the mission(s) you selected and compresses the associated images at the upload stage. The full quality images remain stored in ArcGIS Flight for later upload.

Procedure

To use this feature:

  1. Update ArcGIS Flight to the newest version.
  2. Open the app on the iPad.
  3. Ensure that you are signed in with a Site Scan account, or with an ArcGIS Online account linked to a Site Scan organization.
  4. Select an existing project, or create a new one within your organization.
  5. Complete a mission using any flight mode.
  6. After the drone has landed, from the Mission Complete screen select Get Images.
  7. From the Import Images window select your desired method to transfer imagery from the drone to your tablet: Wireless Import or Memory Card Import. More information about image transfer methods can be found in this article.
    • ArcGIS Flight will automatically detect the images associated with the selected mission(s) using either method.
  8. From the Import Images window enable Upload to Site Scan After Importing and Quick Upload Copy of Mission.

  1. Select Import & Upload.
