How to update StreetMap Premium Licensing In ArcGIS Pro Using FGDB

Summary

ArcGIS StreetMap Premium provides high-quality maps, geocoding, and routing data that can be integrated into ArcGIS Pro. To use it, you'll need to enable the appropriate StreetMap Premium extension and can then work with mobile map packages, file geodatabases, or locators. StreetMap Premium can also be used as a network dataset for routing and network analysis. 

Note:
Identifying what is needed and the steps to go about licensing StreetMap Premium can be stressful and daunting.

Procedure

A StreetMap Premium license (.sdlic) must be purchased and the data downloaded from My Esri. ArcGIS StreetMap Premium data is available in two formats: mobile map package (.mmpk) and file geodatabase FGDB (.gdb). For licensed users, the .gdb file is available for download from My Esri.

Downloading the Resources

1. Navigate to the My Esri account.
2. Click Downloads and select the last option All Products and Versions.
3. In the search box just under the ALL OTHER PRODUCTS, type ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America and the available files are filtered.
   • ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America
   • ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America Alternative Data
   • ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America for Runtime and Navigator
   • ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America Locator Update
   • ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America Custom Roads
4. The ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America Alternative Data has the Mapping, Routing and Street File Geodatabase (FGDB).
5. Select View Downloads for the version, for example, ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America  Alternative Data, and select the FGDB needed, either Mapping, Routing and Street File Geodatabase.
6. The "ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America" has MMPK files of the states in the US and within North America
7. Select View Downloads for the version you want.
8. On the Download page under DATA AND CONTENT, select the Download action for the specific location you want.
9. For the License, scroll up on the page and click on the Licensing tab and on the drop-down menu, click the LICENSE FILES category to expand it. Select Business Analyst and StreetMap Premium afterwards.
10. Click Download for the corresponding license file that matches your file geodatabase.

Downloading the Data FGDB

1. Search for U.S. Data for use with ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise.
2. Click View Downloads and select the data:
   • ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise 2025R1 Data (U.S.) #1 of 2,  and 
   • ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise 2025R1 Data (U.S.) #2 of 2"

Updating In ArcGIS Pro

1. Launch ArcGIS Pro as an Administrator, navigate to the Settings, and click Licensing.
2. Select the Manage your data licensing button and the Manage Data Licenses flash page opens. Click Add and navigate to the downloaded (.sdlic) file and upload it.
3. After uploading, it shows on the list of "Current Data License" with the Provider, Created and Expiration Date. Click Ok and launch the project.
4. After Launching the project, Click the Analysis tab and select Network Analysis from the Workflows group.
5. From the drop-down, select the Data Source and browse to the location of the downloaded file geodatabase.
6. After selecting the file geodatabase, click Network Analysis again and the Network Analysis service types and Fleet Routing become available.
7. Proceed to launch the Route or Closest Facility or any service you want.
