Share an ArcGIS Pro toolbox

Summary

In ArcGIS Pro, created new custom toolboxes can be shared with others. This article describes the steps to share an ArcGIS Pro toolbox.

Procedure

  1. In ArcGIS Pro, navigate to the Catalog pane.
  2. Under the Toolboxes node, hover over the toolbox to display its storage location.
The toolbox displays the storage location when hovered over in the Catalog pane in ArcGIS Pro.
  1. Note the storage location of the toolbox, save the project, and close ArcGIS Pro.
  2. On the machine, navigate to the storage location of the toolbox. In this example, the toolbox is in the following location:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\PROJECTS\MyProject\My Toolbox
The folder path displays the storage location of the toolbox on the machine.
  1. Right-click the toolbox, hover over Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
When right-clicking the toolbox, the menu displayed provides the option to send the toolbox to a zipped folder.
  1. Type a name for the zipped folder, or accept the default name, and press Enter on the keyboard. The image below shows that a shareable zipped folder containing the toolbox is created.
A shareable zipped folder is created to contain the toolbox and the related files after clicking the 'Send to Compressed (zipped) folder' option.
  1. Share the folder via Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, or other methods.
