Summary

Instructions provided describe setting up the GTCO Calcomp Drawingboard IV for use with ArcInfo Workstation.

Procedure

Configure the digitizer for use with ArcInfo Workstation.

1. Move the digitizer pucks's crosshairs over the Config/Exit block, but do not click. Notice the indicator light in the upper right corner of the drawing board turns off.

2. On the puck, click the '0' button, also known as the pick button, with the crosshairs over the Config/Exit block. The indicator light will turn on; this means the configuration mode is enabled.

Use the DIGTEST command to test communications between ArcInfo Workstation and digitizer.

1. Start ArcInfo Workstation.

2. Enter the following command at the Arc prompt, substituting the correct com port number, such as COM1 or COM2, for COMx:

Code:
Arc: digtest 9100 COMx:9600:8bit:none

Note:
This command tells Arc to test a digitizer, using the configuration of the Calcomp 9100 on COMx at 9600 baud, communicating with 8-bits and no parity.

3. After digtest starts, test the digitizer by following the on screen instructions. If the tests pass, the digitizer is ready to use with ArcInfo Workstation.
