Procedure



  1. Right-click the layer name in the ArcMap Table of Contents and select Properties.
  2. Click the Labels tab.
  3. Click the Placement Options button from within Other Options.
  4. Click the Placement tab on the Placement Properties dialog box.
  5. Click the radio button for 'Place label at specified angles'.

    1. Click the Angles button.
    2. Enter a new angle value.
    3. Click the Add Angle button.
    4. Click OK.



    Or at version 9.0 and higher, click the radio button for 'Place label at an angle specified by a field'.

    1. Click the Rotation field button.
    2. Click the drop-down list and select the appropriate field that contains rotation values.
    3. Click either the Geographic or Arithmetic rotation styles radio buttons.
    4. Click OK.

  6. Click OK on all open dialog boxes.
