Remove the footer bar of an embedded story map

Summary

When embedding classic Esri Story Maps in another story map, or web apps such as ArcGIS Dashboards, a footer bar is displayed at the bottom of the embedded story map by default. It is sometimes necessary to remove the footer bar when it is not required.

This article provides steps to remove the footer bar of an embedded story map.

Note:
The footer bar of the embedded story map enables users to share or maximize the use of the story map. Removing it limits this functionality.

Procedure

To remove the footer bar, add the ‘&classicEmbedMode’ parameter at the end of the URL of the embedded story map when embedding in the desired platform.

1. In Classic Story Maps, click My Stories.
2. Browse to and click the story map. Click the share link icon.
3. In the Share your story with the world! window, copy the URL of the story map, and click Close.
4. Embed the story map to the desired platform. In the example below, the story map is embedded using the Embedded Content element in ArcGIS Dashboards.
   1. In ArcGIS Dashboards, add the Embedded Content element. Refer to ArcGIS Dashboards: Add elements for more information.

2. In the Embedded Content window, on the Data tab, paste the story map URL in the URL field, and add the ‘&classicEmbedMode’ parameter at the end of the URL. Click Done.
