How is rubber sheeting applied to two or more coverages?
The following is a summary of the command sequence that should be used when rubber sheeting two or more coverages.
For conceptual and detailed usage information, refer to: "Editing Coverages & Tables with ARCEDIT", the ADJUST command in the "ARCEDIT Command Reference", and "Understanding GIS: The ARC/INFO Method".
EDITCOVER: Specify what coverage will be adjusted.
DRAWENVIRONMENT: Set features to be displayed.
BACKCOVER: Specify a background coverage and symbol for display.
BACKGROUNDENVIRONMENT: Set features to be displayed in the background.
DRAW: Draw edit and back coverages.
ESTABLISH SNAPPING ENVIRONMENT:
SNAPCOVER: Specify which coverage to snap to.
SNAPPING: Defines the search distance for the features to be adjusted.
SNAPFEATURE: Specify the features to be snapped.
LINKFEATURE: Defines what feature will receive links.
EDITFEATURE: Set the edit feature to be links.
AUTOLINK: Add links automatically based on parameters above.
ADD and/or DELETE: Add missing links, delete incorrect links.
ADJUST: When all links are correct, adjust your data.
SAVE: Before leaving ARCEDIT, save your results.
BUILD: Reconstruct polygon topology (at the ARC level).
EDITCOVERAGE COV1 /** This is the coverage you will modify.
DRAWENVIRONMENT ARC LINKS /** These will display when DRAW is issued.
SNAPCOVERAGE COV2 /** COV2 will be coverage snapped to.
LINKFEATURES TIC TIC /** This says tics will align with tics.
EDITFEATURE LINKS /** Will automatically add 8 links (nails) to perimeter.
BACKCOVERAGE COV2 2 /** When DRAW is issued COV2 will draw in red.
SNAPPING CLOSEST 150 /** This will snap tics from COV1 to COV2 if tics are within 150 feet.
AUTOLINK /** This command begins matching tics from COV1 to COV 2. If you zoom in you will see little arrows showing which tic in COV1 is matched to which tic in COV2.
ADD /** This command allows you to interactively add links.
The following commands will set up "nails" to hold your coverage down. You should surround the area of concern with IDENTITY LINKS ("nails".)
Grain 20 /** This controls spacing of the nails(Identity links). 20 feet in this case.
LIMITADJUST POLY /** Using your mouse to identify area where identity Links will be added.
ADJUST /** Begins modifying the EDITCOVERAGE.
BUILD /** Reconstruct polygon topology (at the ARC level).
