Move a polygon label point in ArcCAD

Summary

When adding polygons within existing polygons, or when splitting polygons, you will need to move the location of polygon label points to preserve the correct attribute information of the original polygon. This is an integral part to creating and maintaining polygon topology.The polygon containing the modified label point, after the edit, will contain the attribute information associated with the original polygon's label point.

Procedure

1. Display the label points using the LABELMRK command.
2. Use the appropriate AutoCAD editing command to change the location of the label points. In most cases, selecting the point's grip and dragging it to the desired location will suffice.
   
3. Run the MODFEAT command and select the points that have been modified.
4. Run BUILD to update point topology.
