Summary
In Portal for ArcGIS Map Viewer Classic, when starting analysis operations in the Perform Analysis pane, the Map Viewer Classic home page is returned by default, preventing users from determining the status of the operations and the details of their success or failure.
The instructions provided describe how to monitor and determine the status of analysis operations in Portal for ArcGIS Map Viewer Classic.

This functionality is currently only supported in Map Viewer Classic.
Note:
Only users with an administrative account can perform the following workflows.
- Monitor the status of analysis operations in Portal for ArcGIS Map Viewer Classic.
- In Portal for ArcGIS Map Viewer Classic, open the web map containing the feature layers to analyze.
- Click the Analysis button on the map menu bar.
- In the Perform Analysis pane, click the Analysis Environments button.
- In the Analysis Environments dialog box, uncheck the Close analysis widget after running analysis check box, and click APPLY.
The loading icon next to the RUN ANALYSIS button indicates the layers are being analyzed.
- Determine the status of analysis operations.
- Log in to ArcGIS Server Manager with an administrative account.
- Click Site > Server Configuration > Jobs.
- On the Jobs page, select the service from the drop-down menu for Service. In this example, System/SpatialAnalysisTools is selected.
- Select All for Status and Age. For Machine, select the machine on which the analysis tool is running in Step 1.
- Click Query. The list of jobs is returned and displayed on the Jobs page.
- Click the Info button to view the information about a job.
- Click the Job ID property to display the job’s details page in the ArcGIS REST Services Directory.
