Make a web map public without the login prompt

Procedure

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to the Portal for ArcGIS home page.
  2. Navigate to Content > My Content > New item.
  3. Click URL to add the item from the web.
  4. Type the REST URL of the service, for example:
https://tiledbasemaps.arcgis.com/arcgis/rest/services/<serviceName>/<serviceType>
  1. Toggle the Store credentials with service item. Do not prompt for authentication. option on, and click Next.
  2. Enter the username and password of an account that has access to externally available secure services, and click Next.
  3. Review the content of all the field values, and click Save.
  4. Open the newly created secure service in Map Viewer and save as a web map.
