HOW TO
By default, social media buttons are displayed when an ArcGIS Instant Apps app, such as Nearby, Minimalist, or Sidebar, is created. It is sometimes necessary to disable the social media buttons to prevent app editors or the audience from sharing the app via social media. The image below shows the social media buttons displayed when viewing the Nearby app.
There are instances where the social media buttons are not displayed when viewing the instant app but are available in the Share window on the ArcGIS Instant Apps configuration page, as shown in the image below.
This article details the steps to disable the social media buttons in the Share window on the ArcGIS Instant Apps configuration page and when viewing the instant app.
Note: It is a known limitation that users can share the instant app via social media using the mobile browsers’ sharing options despite the social media buttons not being displayed and the instant app set to private. Refer to BUG-000135791 for more information.
Note: Only organization administrators or item owners can perform the following workflows.
Disable the Social sharing option to remove the social media buttons when the instant app is launched

Set the instant app to private
In ArcGIS Online, set the instant app to private to disable the social media buttons in the Share window on the ArcGIS Instant Apps configuration page.
