Create conditional questions in ArcGIS Survey123 web designer

In ArcGIS Survey123 web designer, conditional questions improve user experience and data quality by displaying only relevant questions based on previous responses. This article provides the workflow for configuring conditional questions in Survey123 web designer.

Procedure

  1. Open the ArcGIS Survey123 web designer.
  2. On the Design tab, in the Add pane, click the preferred question as the primary question. In this example, the Single select question is selected.

  1. In the Single select pane, specify Label and Choices.
  2. On the Add tab, click the preferred question as the conditional question. In this example, the Likert scale question is selected.

  1. In the Likert scale pane, specify Label. Under Behavior, next to Visible, click Set rule.
  2. In the Set visibility rule pane, under Visibility rule, configure the following parameters:
    1. Click the field box and select the primary question. In this example, the 'What television genre do you prefer?' question is selected.
    2. Click the operator box and select is.
    3. Click the value box and select a value. In this example, the Crime value is selected.

  1. Click OK.
  2. Click Save The Save icon > Publish.
