Create a generation report in ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App

Summary

A generation report refers to a document that contains information and statistics on a specific generation or demographic group, such as Millennials, Generation Z, and Baby Boomers. This generation information is not included in any of the Esri reports available in ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App. The only source of age-related information on age distribution is population reports. However, this report does not specifically address generations, which is critical for business planning and strategy in understanding the needs and preferences of various generations. This article describes how to create a generation report in ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App.

Procedure

1. Log in to ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App and create a project.
2. Create a site by placing a point on the map. Refer to ArcGIS Business Analyst: Place a point on the map for instructions.

3. On the Reports tab, click the Comparison reports tab or the Comparison reports icon.

4. In the Comparison reports window, click Create new report.

5. In the Add variables window, click Population > Generations.

6. Under Variables, check the desired variables check box from the list. Click Apply.

7. Click Save. Specify a Report name and click Save once more.

Note:
Export the generation report to Excel by clicking the Export button in the Comparison reports window, if necessary.
