The instructions provided describe how to create a backup copy of ArcGIS install media. In site license situations, where only one copy of the original install media is available for several workstations, creating duplicate copies of the install media is a common solution. Duplicated CDs and DVDs improperly copied can cause a wide range of errors.

Procedure

Label the burned CDs or DVDs the same as the original install media to ensure that they are properly copied.

Labels are as follows:
ArcGIS Desktop, including Single Use is labeled Desktop.

Workstation CD 1 and 2 are labeled CDROM_1 and CDROM_2.
