Summary

Existing label positions can be applied to any other feature layer to make the layer look similar if it is necessary to keep the labels the same throughout the map layers.

Procedure

  1. Right-click the existing feature layer from which to use the label positions to access the label properties.
  2. In the label property window, click the Label Class Menu (three horizontal lines) to select the option to Save position to style, as shown in the next image.

Saving the label position to a style

  1. From the Save Label Placement As pop-up, provide the Name, and choose and/or create a new Category. In the example shown in the next image, the name is BestLabelPosition.
  2. Provide Tags optionally.
  3. Select Style from the drop-down, in this case, Favorites.
  4. The Key option can also be added, which is a unique identifier of a style item.
  5. Click OK.

Saving the label placement

To apply the label position to another feature layer:

  1. Select the feature layer from the Contents pane, under Drawing Order, click the Labeling contextual tab, shown below.
  2. Navigate to and click the Label Placement menu group, and click the newly created label position to apply it.
