Configure an automatic refresh interval for a layer in ArcGIS Pro

Summary

The map in an ArcGIS Pro project can be refreshed manually by clicking Refresh The blue icon representing the Refresh feature. on the bottom-left corner of the map view, or by pressing the F5 button on the keyboard. However, when working with a feature layer that contains real-time datasets, it is necessary that the feature layer is refreshed automatically at intervals to reflect the latest data.

Procedure

Follow this workflow to configure an automatic refresh interval for the layer in ArcGIS Pro. These settings are also shown in the image below.

  1. In ArcGIS Pro, in the Contents pane, right-click the layer containing the real-time dataset and click Properties.
  2. In the Layer Properties window, on the General tab, check the Layer should be refreshed periodically box.
  3. Type a number for the time period and click the drop-down arrow to select the time unit.
  4. Click OK.
