HOW TO
Instructions provided describe how to center and maintain features in a map book or series while highlighting index features. It is possible to center features in each page of a map book or map series by enabling feature-based Data Driven Pages. This can be done by simply designating the desired point, polyline, or polygon layer as an index layer under the Data Driven Pages Setup dialog. However, to maintain all the features of a map in the center of each page while browsing a map book and highlighting the feature of interest, the following workflow can be performed. This workflow might apply in the event that it is needed to maintain the features of an entire building evacuation plan in the center of each page of a map book, while displaying different locations in a building while browsing. This workflow may also be applicable when creating an inset map for a map book, where it is necessary to show all features and highlight the current index feature.
Note:
Upon opening the output PDF, note that all pages of the map book have been exported and that the feature of interest has been highlighted in each page.
