HOW TO

Automatically rotate a web scene in web apps

Last Published: April 9, 2026

Summary

Automatically rotating a web scene improves spatial understanding by showing layers from multiple angles without manual navigation. It visualizes depth, height differences, and relationships between objects in a 3D environment. Automatic rotation also enables hands-free viewing, which is useful for displays, exhibitions, and public dashboards.

This article describes workflows for automatically rotating a web scene using ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Earth, and ArcGIS Instant Apps.

Procedure

ArcGIS Experience Builder

  1. Open the experience in Experience Builder.

  1. Click the Fly Controller widget to open its pane.
  2. In the Fly Controller pane, on the Content tab, under Choose fly modes, click Fly around map center in Rotate mode.
