Summary
In ArcGIS Pro, when viewing an image attachment in a web map pop-up, users must click the image file to view it, as the image is not automatically displayed in the pop-up, as shown in the image below.
However, it is best to display the image attachment in the pop-up without the need to click the file, especially when involving numerous features in the web map. This article describes the workflow to automatically display the web map image attachments in a pop-up in ArcGIS Pro.

This article is also applies to viewing image attachments from Esri app products that support image attachments, such as ArcGIS Field Maps and ArcGIS Survey123. Refer to the Apps section in Esri Products.
Procedure
- Configure the web map's pop-ups to display the image attachments in ArcGIS Online.
- Log in to ArcGIS Online and click Content > My Content.
- Browse to the web map, click More Options , and select Open in Map Viewer.
- In Map Viewer, in the Layers pane, browse to and click the hosted feature layer.
- On the Settings (light) toolbar, click Pop-ups.
- In the Pop-ups pane, toggle Enable pop-ups on to enable the hosted feature layer's pop-ups.
- Click Add content and Attachments. Specify the title and description for the attachment.
- On the Contents (dark) toolbar, click Save and open and Save to save the pop-up configuration.
- Configure the web map's pop-ups to automatically display the image attachments in ArcGIS Pro.
- Log in to ArcGIS Pro and open a project.
- In the Catalog pane, on the Portal tab, click My Content.
- Browse to and right-click the web map. Click Add And Open to view the map in ArcGIS Pro.
- In the Contents pane, right-click the feature layer, and select Configure Pop-ups.
- In the Configure Pop-ups pane, click the Image element. An image element is added to the pop-up definition list.
- Double-click the image element to edit the element properties.
- In the Image Options pane, select Use Attachments for the Source parameter.
- Click Back .
The image below shows the image attachment of the web map displayed in the ArcGIS Pro pop-up.
