Append data to a Survey123 for ArcGIS survey from an existing survey with related tables

Summary

In Survey123 for ArcGIS, data collected from an existing survey may contain feature classes with related tables and attachments that can be appended to a new survey with the same schema in ArcGIS Online.

Procedure

Complete the steps below to append data from an existing Survey123 for ArcGIS survey with related tables and attachments to a new survey in ArcGIS Online.

1. Log in to ArcGIS Online, and navigate to Content > My Content.
2. Navigate to the existing survey folder and click the survey's hosted feature layer. Export and download the survey feature layer and the related table to a file geodatabase in a desired folder on the computer.
3. In ArcGIS Online, navigate to the new survey folder, click the survey's hosted feature layer, and click Update Data > Append Data to Layer.
4. In the Append Data dialog box, append the related table data from the existing survey to the related table of the new survey.
   1. Click Choose file, and select the downloaded folder that contains the related table from Step 2. Click the Contents drop-down menu, and select File Geodatabase. Click Upload and Continue.

2. In the Choose the layer that you wish to append the data into, select the related table from the new survey.
3. In the Choose the layer from [folder name].zip that contains the updated data, select the related table from the downloaded file.
4. Uncheck the Update existing features check box to populate the related table.
5. Click Apply Updates.

6. Click the new survey's hosted feature layer again, and click Update Data > Append Data to Layer.
7. In the Append Data dialog box, append the hosted feature layer data from the existing survey to the hosted feature layer of the new survey.
   1. Click Choose file, and select the downloaded file that contains the hosted feature layer from Step 2. Click the Contents drop-down menu, and select File Geodatabase. Click Upload and Continue.

2. In the Choose the layer that you wish to append the data into, select the hosted feature layer from the new survey.
3. In the Choose the layer from [folder name].zip that contains the updated data, select the hosted feature layer from the downloaded file in Step 2.
4. Check the Update existing features check box to populate the attribute table for the data with the related information.
5. Select the desired field to match the new survey layer's unique identifier to the uploaded data.
6. Click Apply Updates.
