HOW TO

Adjust the minimum match score or minimum candidate score of a locator in ArcGIS Pro

Last Published: November 1, 2023

Summary

In ArcGIS Pro, locators can be used to perform geocoding. When a locator is created, the default parameters of the geocoding properties and options are saved in the locator. In some instances, the minimum match score or minimum candidate score must be adjusted. For example, if the locator is unable to find candidates for an address, the minimum candidate score must be reduced to enable candidates with lower scores to display.

To adjust the minimum match score or the minimum candidate score of a locator in ArcGIS Pro, follow the steps below.

Procedure

Note:
ArcGIS Pro currently supports accessing and modifying locator properties for locators added to a project and stored in a file location, but not for portal locators or server locators.
  1. In ArcGIS Pro, open the project.
  2. In the Catalog pane, navigate to the Locators folder or the folder connection containing the locator.
  3. Right-click the locator, and select Locator Properties.

  1. In the Locator Properties dialog box, select Geocoding options.
  2. Under Minimum match score or Minimum candidate score, type a score between zero and one hundred in the box.

  1. Click OK to apply the changes.
