Add the Business Analyst Web App report in the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer pop-up

Summary

The Business Analyst Web App report is added in the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer pop-up to provide more information on layers based on the data collected.

The image below shows the location of Sakura-jima, an active volcano located in the Kagoshima prefecture, southern Japan. It last erupted in 2017 and is closely monitored by the geological department. A report is run in ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App to determine the statistics on the population and related businesses in the area under threat. The report on 5, 10, and 20-kilometer distances from the volcanic cone give a good estimate on the number of people to evacuate and the amount of possible business loss if Sakura-jima erupts. The business report is added in the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer pop-up.

Procedure

Use the following steps to add the Business Analyst Web App report in the ArcGIS Online Map Viewer pop-up.

1. Run the selected report in Business Analyst Web App. Refer to Business Analyst Web App: Run Reports for steps to do this. The PDF reports are available on the Business Analyst Web App Reports tab, and on the ArcGIS Online Content tab. In this example, the report name is Japan Summary Report.

2. Navigate to the PDF report on the ArcGIS Online Content tab, and update the sharing option to Everyone (public).
3. Click the PDF report to open the item details page. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and copy the URL.

Note:
This URL field only appears when the PDF report is shared to everyone.

4. Navigate to the layer to attach the PDF report in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer. In this example, the PDF report is attached to the VolcanoJapan layer. Click the More Options icon (ellipsis), and select Configure Pop-Up.

5. Select A custom attribute display from the drop-down for the Display field under Pop-up Contents, and click CONFIGURE.

6. Configure the values to display in the pop-up in the Configure Attribute Display dialog box.
   1. Select the text to link, and click the Create Link icon to open the Link Properties dialog box.
   2. Paste the link copied in step 3 in the URL field, and click Set > OK.

7. Click OK to close the Configure Pop-up pane. Click the feature to open the pop-up that contains the hyperlink to the Business Analyst Web App PDF report.

Click the PDF hyperlink to open the Business Analyst Web App PDF report on a new tab.

Note:
Since the PDF report is attached to all the features within the same layer, this method is not suitable for attaching different reports to different features within the same layer. To add different PDF reports to different features, create a separate feature layer for each pop-up, and hyperlink configurations.
