Frequently asked question

How does ArcGIS Production Mapping support ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud?

Last Published: August 28, 2020

Answer

The ArcGIS Production Mapping for ArcGIS Server extension includes support files for ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud. Among these files is the m4cc_template.mxd map template installed at C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Server\Templates\ExportWebMapTemplates. The template is designed for use by the ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud extension as a part of the map print solution for users of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

The ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud extension converts maps and layers, hosted in ArcGIS Online, into editable artwork for graphic design workflows in Adobe applications. The template allows the ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud extension to request a map in a form that works with these design apps through the ArcGIS print service. The map template includes a Letter-sized portrait layout containing an empty data frame, configured to use the Maplex Label Engine. The layout also includes an off-page text element, configured to populate the Service Layer Credits note.

When used outside the ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud workflow, the output is a standard Letter size without Service Layer Credits.

As there are no other uses for this map template, enterprise users can choose to exclude the template in custom print workflows. See the Related Information below for details on managing a layout for a custom print task.
