Frequently asked question

How can I bring in waypoints from my GPS to ArcGIS?

Last Published: April 25, 2020
ArcGIS does not have a way to import waypoints from GPS units. There are a number of programs available on the Internet for free or at low cost to convert GPS waypoints to CSV (comma separated values) format. Also, many GPS manufacturers have ways to convert their waypoint files to a CSV file. This file can then be brought into ArcGIS using Tools > Add X,Y Data.
