How are add-ins installed to the shared Add-Ins folder?

Copy and paste the add-in install into the following location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.2\bin\Addins


Note:
If difficulty is experienced when installing add-ins through the normal installation process, this method is a good workaround to resolve the issue.
