Frequently asked question

How accurate are ArcGIS Mobile applications using GPS?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

The ArcGIS Mobile GPS implementation uses the National Marine and Electronic Association (NMEA) electrical interface and data protocol. The absolute best accuracy that NMEA can achieve is 18cm. NMEA sentences display LAT/LONG values at four decimal places after the degree, so this is the limitation of accuracy that can be acquired across the Earth's surface.
