FLEXlm Error: Cannot find license file. Flexlm error -1,359

Error Message

Attempting to start ArcInfo produces this error:

'FLEXlm Error: Cannot find license file

FLEXlm error: -1,359. System Error: 2 "No such file or directory"'


The license file is not in the <ARCHOME>\sysgen directory.

Solution or Workaround

  1. Copy the license file recieved from Esri into your $ARCHOME/sysgen directory.
  2. Rename the file License.dat
  3. Restart the license manager.
