Error Message

The following error occurs when starting ArcInfo:

Cause

There may be syntax or typographic errors in the license file, such as a missing underscore or secondary encryption string in a FEATURE line.

Solution or Workaround

1. Compare the license file with the license file received from ESRI.
2. Make sure you have the proper syntax.
   Example: missing underscore (vendor_info):
   Incorrect:

   Code:
   FEATURE ARC/INFO ESRI 8.01 01-jan-00 1 3BFF602151F669CB9349 vendor info="8CDZFL7B5R6G6RH9L023" ck=15

   Correct:

   Code:
   FEATURE ARC/INFO ESRI 8.01 01-jan-00 1 3BFF602151F669CB9349 vendor_info="8CDZFL7B5R6G6RH9L023" ck=15

   Example: missing secondary encryption string:
   Incorrect:

   Code:
   FEATURE ARC/INFO ESRI 8.01 01-jan-00 1 3BFF602151F669CB9349 vendor_info="" ck=15

   Correct:

3. Stop and start the license manager.
