Oracle has several date formats with specific defaults to resolve a two-digit year entry. When converting an Oracle table containing date columns with two digit years, the DBMSINFO command will:
· Convert two-digit years between 00 and 49 to years between 2000 and 2049.
· Convert two digit years between 50 and 99 to years between 1950 and 1999.
To maintain the correct century during conversion, alter the table in Oracle to store 4 digit years.
Consult your Oracle System Administrator or the Oracle documentation for further information on Oracle date formats.
