Last Published: April 25, 2020
Answer
The Data Interoperability 9.2 extension is based on the FME 2006GB product release by Safe Software and benefits from the new functionality added in this new product release. This includes support for new formats and new workbench transformers. For detailed information, please refer to the What's New in 9.2 document. See Related Information.
ArcGIS Data Interoperability 9.0 & 9.1
In ArcGIS Data Interoperability 9.0 & 9.1, it was possible to create 3 types of custom tools: Custom Import Tool Custom Export Tool Custom Transform Tool
ArcGIS Data Interoperability 9.2
In ArcGIS Data Interoperability 9.2, the three custom tool options are consolidated to a single tool called Spatial ETL Tool. The Spatial ETL Tool retains the functionality of the original tools. Tools built in previous versions are forward compatible, meaning the tools can be run without upgrading it to a Spatial ETL tool. Editing the tool in Workbench, upgrades to a Spatial ETL Tool upon saving the edits.
More information about Spatial ETL Tool is available in the online help for 9.2, or in chapter three of the Data Interoperability Tutorial.
