Yes, it is possible to customize the background color of a group or repeat section in the ArcGIS Survey123 field app for improved visualization on limited size devices. The group or repeat section is prominently displayed on the survey form when the background color is changed. Use the following steps to customize the background color of the group or repeat section in the ArcGIS Survey123 field app.

1. Open ArcGIS Survey123 Connect. Create a survey using an Advanced template, or open the desired survey for customization.

Note:
It is not possible to create a survey with a customized background color for a group or repeat using ArcGIS Survey123 web designer.

2. In the XLSForm, navigate to the body::esri::style column of the group or repeat section, and specify the backgroundColor property. The color scheme used by ArcGIS Survey123 follows the standard HTML color names. The code below shows the backgroundColor property is specified using either the hex color code or the color name.

backgroundColor="#ffffff" or backgroundColor="White"

Note:
Alternatively, click Settings > Style > Default (under any color field) to retrieve the HTML color code, and open the color chart. The HTML color code is located in the HTML field.

3. Save the XLSForm and publish the survey.
4. Open the ArcGIS Survey123 field app and download the desired survey. The background color of the group or repeat section appears customized.
