Can the expression title be removed from the legend when symbolizing features with Arcade in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer?

No. There is currently no option to remove or hide the title from the legend in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer. Applying an Arcade expression to symbolize features in Map Viewer automatically adds the expression title to the legend. Attempting to remove the title does not trigger any errors or warnings, but the default title, 'New expression', remains, indicating that the title text box cannot be left empty in Map Viewer.

However, the expression title can be removed from the legend in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer Classic. The image below shows the legend with the default expression title when symbolizing features using an Arcade expression in Map Viewer.

1. Open the web map in Map Viewer Classic.
2. Click Details and click Content.

3. In the Content pane, select the feature layer and click Change Style .
4. In the Change Style pane, under Choose an attribute to show, click the Edit Expression button.

5. In the editor window, click Edit. Delete the title of the expression and click Save.

Note:
Ignore the warning message, "Please fill out this field".

6. In the editor window, click OK.
7. In the Change Style pane, click DONE.
8. Click the Save drop-down menu and select Save. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Save maps (Map Viewer Classic) for more information.
