Frequently asked question
No, the default locator cannot be removed from the map search result exclusively for ArcGIS Dashboards. The search tool in the Map element honors the locator defined in the organization's utility service settings, similar to web maps in Map Viewer. By default, the locator is the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service.
However, to work around this, apply one of the methods described below.
The default locator can be removed from the ArcGIS Dashboards map search results by removing the locator on the utility service settings page. Refer to ArcGIS Online: Geocoding for instructions. Changes to the default locator apply across all apps using the map search tool, not just ArcGIS Dashboards.
In ArcGIS Experience Builder, use the Search widget instead of the Map widget's search tool. The Search widget allows the customization of search resources and the exclusion of the default locator. Refer to ArcGIS Experience Builder: Search widget for more information.
