Can images be added directly in ArcGIS Dashboards?

No, images cannot be added directly as an element in ArcGIS Dashboards. As a workaround, images can be displayed by embedding the image URL in the dashboard element or through another web-based application. Use one of the workarounds provided below.

Embed the image URL using the Embedded content element

  1. In Dashboards, on the View The View icon tab, click Body > +Add element and select Embedded content The Embedded content icon.
  2. In the Embedded content window, on the Data tab, under Settings in the Data options pane, click Image for Content Type and specify the URL.
  3. Click Done.

Add the image as a header in Dashboards

  1. In Dashboards, on the View The View icon tab, click Header > Add header.
  2. In the Header window, under the Appearance pane, expand Logo.
  3. In the Logo section, specify the Image URL.
Note: 
Optionally, in the Appearance pane, expand Background image and specify the URL to add the image as a background image in the header.

Use the Rich text element in Dashboards

  1. In Dashboards, on the View The View icon tab, click Body > +Add element and select Rich text The Rich text icon.
  2. In the Rich text window, on the General tab, under Content, in the General options pane, click Insert image via URL The 'Insert image via URL' icon and specify the image URL in the input box.
  3. Click Insert > Done.

Add the image as a caption in an element in Dashboards

  1. In Dashboards, on the View The View icon tab, click Body > +Add element and select an element. In this example, Map The Map icon is selected.
  2. In the Select a map window, select the preferred map.
  3. In the Map window, on the General tab, click Edit next to Top caption. Optionally, click Edit next to Bottom caption to add the image below the element.
  4. Under Top caption, click Insert image via URL The 'Insert image via URL' icon and specify the image URL in the input box.
  5. Click Insert > Done.

Use the Image widget in ArcGIS Experience Builder and embed it in Dashboards

In ArcGIS Experience Builder, add the image using the Image widget and embed it in the dashboard using the Embedded content element. Refer to Steps 1 through 7 in How To: Add a logo to a map and embed it in ArcGIS StoryMaps using ArcGIS Experience Builder before embedding the published item link in Dashboards.
