Can I buffer and select features from the same layer of an ArcMap Service?
Answer
While this can be accomplished using ArcIMS Image Services, this cannot be done using ArcMap Image Services.ArcIMS Image Services create dynamic layers to draw the buffered features, the buffers, and the features selected by the buffers.
ArcMap Services do not create dynamic layers. Therefore, a single layer is the basis for both buffers and features selected by the buffers.
