Error Message

During an upgrade of ArcGIS Enterprise, the following error is returned in the logs.

Failed to get current license information. Unable to obtain the license info.

When logging into the ArcGIS Portal Administrator API, the Populate License page appears.

Cause

The Populate License operation applies license information from the license file used to create or upgrade the ArcGIS Enterprise portal.

Usually, this operation is necessary only if you create or upgrade portal through the Portal Administrator API, but in some cases it is required after performing an upgrade using the configuration wizard.

Solution or Workaround

In the Portal Administrator API, click Populate License to apply license information from the license file used to create or upgrade the ArcGIS Enterprise portal.

After populating the license information, ArcGIS Portal becomes accessible from both the Portal Administrator API and the Portal home page.
