ERROR
Failed to connect to database: Unable to complete login process due to delay in opening server connection. No extended error.
Error Message
When attempting to connect to a SQL Server geodatabase, the following error message is received:
“Error: Failed to connect to database: Unable to complete login process due to delay in opening server connection. No extended error.”
Cause
The firewall on the server may be blocking the connection.
Solution or Workaround
Add the SQL Server default ports 1433 and 1434 as exceptions in Windows Firewall.Refer to the following Microsoft TechNet Library topic:
