Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC when loading an XML using X-Ray for ArcCatalog

Error Message

When using the X-Ray for ArcCatalog add-in to load an XML into a geodatabase, the software returns the following error:

"Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC."

Cause

Office 2003 or an earlier version of Office software is installed on the machine.

Solution or Workaround

The X-Ray for ArcCatalog add-in requires either Excel 2007 or Excel 2010 to be installed on the machine. Upgrade to one of the new versions of Excel.
