Event Editor Deprecation

Description

We are deprecating the Event Editor web application and replacing it with widgets built using ArcGIS Experience Builder. This is largely due to the retirement of ArcGIS API for JavaScript version 3.x.

Recommendation

ArcGIS Roads and Highways customers using the ArcMap-based extension must migrate to ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise due to ArcMap entering mature support. Event Editor still works with previous versions of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise but Esri recommends upgrading to the latest releases (currently ArcGIS Pro 3.3/ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3) to take advantage of the Experience Builder widgets.

During migration, customers are encouraged to evaluate their options for LRS event management workflows. For example, GIS professionals that do a majority of their work in ArcGIS Pro may find the event editing tools in ArcGIS Pro to be a better option over ArcGIS Experience Builder.

ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing and ArcGIS Roads and Highways currently using ArcGIS Pro-enabled services workflows are encouraged to begin planning their upgrade to ArcGIS Pro 3.3 and ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 (or later) in order to deploy the ArcGIS Experience Builder-based template application. Prior to upgrading, customers are encouraged to evaluate their options for event management workflows. ArcGIS Pro 3.0 and later provides event management capabilities that fulfill the same functions as tools within the Event Editor.
