Esri Story Maps fail to open in Internet Explorer

Description

Opening an Esri Story Map in Internet Explorer in a disconnected environment causes the loading screen to spin indefinitely.

Cause

By default, Internet Explorer 7 and below opens Esri Story Maps in Compatibility Mode. Internet Explorer 7 and below are unsupported versions.

Solution or Workaround

Note:
Esri recommends using the latest version of Internet Explorer or Google Chrome to open Esri Story Maps.

To rectify this issue, follow the steps below:

1. Launch Internet Explorer.
2. Select Tools in the top-right section of the browser.
3. Select Compatibility View settings.

4. Uncheck Display intranet sites in Compatibility View.

5. Re-launch Esri Story Maps.
