Unknown resource – could not find token service endpoint

Error Message

An error occurs during the federation of ArcGIS Server with Portal for ArcGIS, returning the following message:

Unknown resource – could not find token service endpoint."

Cause

The cached version of the website on the local machine is different from the version loaded in the browser cache.

Solution or Workaround

Clear the browser cache on the local machine, or alternatively, perform the federation process in an incognito tab.
