Error Message

When either creating a layout based on an existing template or creating a new template, the following error occurs: Unknown Object "SpAnEnv. 10719" in Project "C:\TEMP\template.def"
"Template file is invalid. Please check your installation." Note that the number following 'SpAnEnv' can be any number.

Cause

A layout template found at the location specified in the error message was created when the Spatial Analyst extension loaded.

Solution or Workaround

• Delete or rename the template.def file in the directory referred to in the error message. This option will not allow use of any previously created templates.
• Load the Spatial Analyst extension before using or creating the template.
