Error: Unarchiving ARC... Bad Command or File Name

Summary

When starting ARC, the following messages occur:

Unarchiving ARC
Unarchiving STARTLOG
Unarchiving ENDLOG
Unarchiving CHKPAR

Directory already exists
Bad command or file name
Bad command or file name

Cause

The variable ARC was set to an incorrect path.

Solution

Check the AUTOEXEC.BAT and make sure ARC is set correctly. For example, if PC ARC/INFO was installed on the default directory:

SET ARC=C:\ARCEXE
