This functionality is not available without the ArcGIS Pro Licensing Service being installed

Error Message

In some instances, attempts to authorize the ArcGIS Pro Single Use licensing fail, and the following error is returned:

This functionality is not available without the ArcGIS Pro Licensing Service being installed.

Cause

In some cases, the ArcGIS Pro installation is completed and no error message is returned. However, the ArcGIS Pro Licensing Service installation process is left out.

Without the ArcGIS Pro Licensing Service, the Single Use licensing authorization is not possible and its functions may also be unavailable.

Solution or Workaround

A manual installation of ArcGIS Pro Licensing Service is required to fix this issue.

1. Navigate to the following folder location:

C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\ArcGIS Licensing Service

2. Run the ArcGIS LS.msi file.
