The spatial references do not match

The following error message is returned when loading or copying data:

The spatial references do not match

Cause

LeftLongitude is a property of a Geographic Coordinate System. This property defines whether data falls in the ranges of:

• 0 to +360
• -180 to +180
• -360 to 0

In some cases this property is not set.

Solution or Workaround

This issue has been resolved in ArcGIS Version 8.1.2. If this issue is occuring in newer versions, refer to Error: Failed to paste < feature class > The spatial references do not match for more information.
