ERROR
When logging in to ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise through ArcGIS Field Maps on an Android device, the process fails and returns the following error:
Error: Connection error The server may not be responding or we encountered an unexpected error
Depending on the cause, the following workarounds are applicable.
A public ArcGIS Enterprise Portal is accessible from any network (can test accessing Portal home), while a restricted ArcGIS Enterprise Portal is not accessible from all networks. If the Portal is not publicly accessible, ensure the user's device is connected to the VPN when attempting to connect and log in to ArcGIS Enterprise Portal in ArcGIS Field Maps.
Add ArcGIS Field Maps as a registered application to ArcGIS Enterprise. Refer to How To: Add the ArcGIS Field Maps mobile app as a registered application to ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1 or newer for further instructions.
Change the portal authentication type to portal-tier authentication. Refer to Portal for ArcGIS: Portal-tier authentication for instructions and more information.
